The Divisional Sites and Service Manager for the GHA, Darren Cerisola, is poised to become the GGCA’s next president, if the membership backs him.
Mr Cerisola is unopposed in running for the clerical Union’s presidency vacated by Wendy Cumming, who will become Ombuds in May.
Wayne Acris and Adill El Bakali are also unopposed as they run for the respective roles of Vice President and Treasurer.
There are another five individuals being proposed for committee positions.
The Union has informed members that because the positions are unopposed, there will be no formal election process, although ‘yes or no’ votes can be cast online as from 11 March.
However, the Union says if the result is ‘no’, an EGM will have to be called as it will have no committee or leadership.
It describes this as a ‘crisis’ scenario’.
